Gary and I desired to have a small cabin on top of a mountain. Just the thought of being up above the trees and seeing Gods beauty all around us was our dream.
After seven years of marriage, God gave us our heart’s desire. Yes, there were mountain lots for sale in a very nice community just one hour away from our home. Gary was working and was afraid to wait until the weekend to go check out the lots. I was eight months pregnant on maternity leave. So off I went with my brother in law to look at the lots. Gary was right they were going fast and the only lots left were on the low side of the hill. I thought to myself, God, we wanted to be on the top of the mountain, what happened? Then I was reminded the lower we are the higher we rise. God is always with us in the valleys of life, leading, teaching, and protecting us. That is where we spiritually grow our relationship with him. I relate it to prayer when we humble ourselves to God in prayer the higher we rise spiritually. That is the mountain top experience. The overwhelming feeling when you have been in the presence of God.
As you can see in the picture I purchased the lot God had planned for us on the low side of the road. But we have had many mountain top experiences with God throughout our lives. 🙏
