A great friend of mine is losing her memory and to watch this happen saddens my heart. I think for me, this would be the hardest part of growing old. Not being able to recognize love ones, or getting lost in places that you have frequented. As my wife and I have watched her very slowly decline, God impressed us to help her and her husband in different areas of their life to make things easier. Picking up the mail across the street on a horribly busy road, cooking dinners for them on scheduled nights during the week, and helping her husband with work around their property. Often times we take for granted the simple things in life, like remembering to brush our teeth or how to make a meal. Being thankful to God in these times is crucial in our walk with Him. We are so thankful that we have the ability to pay back all the kindness that we were shown over the years by this wonderful couple. Praise God for this opportunity and for the ways that the Holy Spirit impresses us to open our hearts to care for others the way God cares for us.
Thankful even through trials
