Doing Good!

Treating people the way you want to be treated is living by the golden rule, Do unto others as you want others to do unto you, (Matthew 7:12 ). Sometimes we want to retaliate and give people what we think they deserve. All that does is give the devil a foothold. Don’t fall into his trap of self-centeredness, entitlement and self-righteousness. Conquer evil by doing good. Micah 6:8 tells us how God wants us to live. The Lord has told you what he wants from you, Do what is right to other people, love being kind to others, and live humbly, obeying your God.

He Sent Him to Save The World!

As a young girl, I loved fairy tales since they always ended with, they lived happily ever after. Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden lived that life. They had everything that they would ever want in the most beautiful place on earth. They walked and talked with God. It was only when they sinned that shame, guilt and condemnation entered the world. I can’t even imagine the first time Adam and Eve felt the heaviness of sin upon them. The realization of their nakedness and the overwhelming fear of God.

That’s not the life that God wants for us. John 3:16-17 is definitely not a fairy tale but it ends with what we desire, a happy ending if we believe that Jesus is the son of God.

God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.

God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.” John 3: 16-17 NCV

Jesus gave his life so that we can have eternal life with him, ❤️

Thankful

I have had the flu and a horrible sinus infection for the last 5 days. Can’t go to work and be the provider that I should be and I’m stuck in my house. Its hard for me to be a home body as I love the outdoors. To long at home makes me stir crazy. Cannot go to church because I will not get others sick. These all sound like bad things and the way most people speak now a days. There is always going to be bad things that happen to us in this life but we tend to forget to be thankful for them. I am thankful for my understanding wife who took care of me while I was sick. And also my little daughter that had a smiling face every morning that I woke up. Animals that cuddled with me when I took my naps and kept me warm. Along with some of honey dews that I was able to accomplish. I received phone calls from newer friends from church who wished me healing and prayed for me. They called me early in the morning to get me through the day. Praise God for all the little things that we tend to miss. If we spend all our time griping then we forget to be thankful. Psalms 100:4 Enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise His name. Please join me in prayer. Dear heavenly father thank you for yet another beautiful day. Thank you for giving us the strength to go out and do the things you have set out for us to do. Lord help us to keep focus on the good today instead of all the bad. Help us to be more positive people. In Jesus precious name amen.

Pour yourself out and I will fill you up!

When asked to do something I immediately say “I can do it” and take on the challenge. This has got me in many stressful situations. As a teenager I would take things to my mom after I had made a mess of them for her to tell me how to fix it. Her response was always the same. “Karen, why didn’t you ask me if you didn’t know how to do it?” That question always bugged me, why would I ask her when I thought I knew how to do it. That was only the beginning of my pride and self righteous thinking.

God reminds us that his GRACE is all we need. That when we pour ourselves out then their is room for Him. Philippians 4:13 says, ” I can do all things through Him that strengthens and empowers me.” I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency not my own.

Praise God for his love and patience and giving me a mom that taught me to take things to God first.

Weakness

I get in a rut whenever I sin. If I don’t ask for forgiveness and repent as soon as possible, I fall into a depression. I will continue to go down a sinful road headed for distruction. I feel as though I have let God down and haven’t a way back into His good graces. The only power that I truly have is through Him who created me. When I am at my weakest point is when God is at His strongest. That’s when I need to hit my knees and pray. I want to feel Gods strength surging through me and the only way to obtain that strength is less of me and more of Him. If you are feeling weak, powerless, and in a rut, then please pray with me. Dear heavenly father, thank you for another beautiful day, thank you for giving us the strength and the breath to get through today. Lord please forgive us for any of our sins and trespasses. Help to guide us and make us stronger in the areas in which were weak. Lord you are our strength and our Rock in our times of weakness. Thank you Heavenly Father. In Jesus name amen!
