Praise and prayers
Life can really bog us down if we do these few things in our daily routine. A couple different things can dampen my spirit, one of which is looking to far into the future, fretting over things that have yet to come. Second is keeping all of our focus on life’s little struggles making them out to be bigger than they really are. Last but not least, not praying and giving God the praises for all the good things in our day. It can feel tough at times when we are going through trials in our life to fold our hands and give thanks to the Lord above. Why would we do this? We do this because through these trials God give us grace and strength to overcome. Next time you get a speeding ticket, fold your hands and praise God for the fact that you didn’t get into an accident or for the officers day to be full of blessings. Look for the good in every situation and give your praise through prayer. Doing this increases our positive outlook on life and starts a great habit. When a family member is sick or badly injured in the hospital thank God for giving you and that member the strength to carry on even if you feel weak. 2 Chronicles 5:13, The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang:”He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with the cloud
Is Jesus your foundation?
Needs
God has always provided what I need instead of my wants. My prayers were quite different some time ago. Wanting a huge house with a brand new lifted pick up and to make loads of cash. Over the years my prayers have changed to things that are more suited to my needs. God blessed me with a running vehicle and a roof over my head. The work that He’s provided is more then I could have ever wanted. While at work the opportunity to talk about God is greater because I’m meeting new people quite often. I’m in construction which is a passion of mine so it never really feels like work anyhow. All of our needs are met and praise God for that. Remember that our God is a humble God. Heavenly Father thank you for providing us all with the items that help us get through this life so that we can keep our focus on what you would like us to do. You will always meet our needs and all we have to do is ask. In Jesus name Amen.
Past and future vs present
Everyday we grow stronger in our walk, the way that we pray and the way that we talk. Keeping to this moment, this time and the now, observing the mercy, the grace and even the WOW! The past is important in seeing our growth, but isn’t healthy to dwell on the sin that is gross. The future is far ahead and never guaranteed, we can wither and die just the same as a weed. Take heart in knowing that we’re with God in the now, and that only He has a plan for us somehow.
Make A Difference today!
Today I would like to make a difference in someone’s life. At times life can prove to be very difficult and all the focus is on problems or the things in our lives. When Jesus was walking this earth, He focused on bettering everyone’s life more than His own. How often do we do this during our busy, hectic work week? Did you know that something as small as a “Hello”, can change someone’s day? I have a challenge for all of you out there reading this right now. Pack an extra sandwich and take it to work with you today, giving it to a person who could really use it. Pay for some groceries for that person in front of the checkout that doesn’t have the full amount. Help change a tire or push a broken down car out of the street so the driver can get to safety. Write a note of encouragement to your spouse or tell somebody at work that they are doing a great job. You never know who could use that inspiration today. I heard that someone who is depressed could literally be thinking about suicide and a simple ” Hi, how is your day going,” can snap them out of that unwanted thought. This challenge is for you to be the strength that someone else doesn’t have today. Galatians 6:2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Rest
I love keeping busy, whether it is helping others, being on a job, or just doing things around the house. The problem with that is I tend to take too much on my shoulders and end up lagging on things that maybe more important. Thank God for prayer! Whenever life and it’s problems get to be to much, I can always depend on God to give me the reprieve that I need. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. Remember this verse when life gets you down, God is always there to lift that giant boulder off your shoulders, giving you much needed rest to come back strong.

Faith
What does faith mean to you? Do we think we can pick up a can of faith at the grocery store or read a billboard and all the sudden its ours. Do we think that just by saying it enough that we will automatically get some? Faith is believing in what we can’t see, putting our full trust in someone that we have never met. Have you ever heard the phrase, ” Blind faith”? This is a hard concept to grasp, stepping out onto that ledge and trusting God to catch you, but that’s exactly what we need to be able to do as we walk with God. If you don’t feel as though your strong enough to have that kind of faith just remember to pray for more faith, because the one who is strong enough is always by our side. Psalms 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though it’s waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
Wait for the Lord
Sometimes, waiting on the Lord to answer your prayers or to know what He has planned for us can seem like an eternity. I fall short of this constantly. The times that I have been able to wait and have patience always ended up better than I had ever hoped. Be strong and pray consistently for God’s plan and you will be rewarded greatly.
