Loving others

I love doing things for others way more than doing things for myself. The feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction is so much greater. One day I received a phone call from a woman asking me how much I would charge to do a couple of honeydews around her house. She was given my phone number from someone that I had helped a couple of months back who said that I was a very helpful young man. I told her that I would come to take a look at what she needed to be done and we would go from there. When I arrived she proceeded to show me all that she was wanting and it was adorable. She was a little tiny older woman, maybe in her mid-80s and the first thing on her list was to change out a light bulb. The other items on the list were similar in regards to taking very little time to get done. I ended up not charging her for anything, and had a great time speaking with her about her life and husband passing. I could have charged her for these little things and left, but instead made a friend and blessed her and myself that day. I have met more persons with these divine appointments from God. These are perfect opportunities to love thy neighbor by sharing God’s love. These moments also open up a time to speak of the gospel and all God has done in your life. Dear Heavenly Father thank you so much for this beautiful day thank you for the opportunities that we have to love that neighbor. Please give us a Divine appointment today to show your love to others. Not only to bring others to you but to increase our faith in you. In Jesus mighty name Amen!!!

Suffering

What does it look like to suffer as a Christian? All throughout the Bible Jesus disciples suffered through many trials to be with Him. Take Job for instance. God allows the devil to press Job on his faith. He was given boils all over his body, his children are killed and property taken away. Many of Jesus disciples were sent to prison and even killed for speaking out about their faith. Have we the courage to do such a thing as this with our faith. The most impressive and sad testing was Jesus. He was tempted by the devil after 40 days and nights of fasting, not only that but died a horrible death on the cross for all our sins! If we are not experiencing these trials in our life are we not being the true Christian’s that God is calling us to be? There isn’t one disciple in the Bible that didn’t suffer immensely. Don’t be ashamed to suffer IICorinthians 12:10 states, therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Faith in Jesus=life

Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it. Hebrews 11:1 NCV

In the gospel, the righteousness of God is revealed. It shows how God makes people right with Himself. That it begins and ends with Faith. It is by faith we know that the heavens and the earth were made by God’s command so what we see, was made by something that cannot be seen. Living by faith gives us hope of what’s to come. Eternal life with our Lord and Savior.
