Lesson we learned as children!

I was raised in the olden days, my grandchildren call it the dark ages. However, in those days we were taught at home, school, and church the same message of how to treat others. It seemed so easy in those days to be nice and treat people with respect, to be kind and show compassion and let others be first or have the biggest piece of cake. Let’s go back and live the way God wants us to live!

Do what’s right, love mercy and walk humbly before God. Micah 6: 8. πŸ™

Our needs were met

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. ” like most young newlyweds, my wife Ginger and I were going through financial difficulties. I am a firm believer that the combination of prayer and faith can fix anything, and the Lord will provide all our needs. However, Ginger had trouble letting go and letting God take over. The problem was that I was praying over our situation myself and failed to include my new wife. The bills were being met and I knew God was answering my prayers. A cell phone bill had come in for a grand total of $198.63. Ginger started expressing her worries and concerns about the bill as I patiently listened. This time God impressed me to share my prayer time and trust in him with ginger, so I did. We prayed together and when we were finished, I said,”let’s trust and have faith and discard the problem from our thoughts.” We had some items left over from a yard sale and decided to have another sale to get rid of the rest along with some other items we had around the house. Throughout the yard sale day, I did not feel like we had many people show up, but I was happy just knowing that God was with us and that it would be okay. We cleaned up the leftovers and sat down from exhaustion. I took out all the folded money and coins for my pocket and proceeded to count. I could not believe my eyes! God had done it again. “Ginger, ” I said, ” Come look at this! ” Ginger walked over and we started counting the money together, $198.63 ! I never expected to see that much money after so few people seemed to show up. It never ceases to amaze me that are Great and Mighty God, creator of the entire universe could hear a prayer from someone smaller than a speck, and loves us enough to listen and help. ” this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NLT).

Peace

We all have a friend or two that can get under our skin, maybe even someone that we work with, or go to church with. Whatever the case may be we need to put our best foot forward and keep our side of the street clean. Remember that when people are being unruly or grouchy, it’s usually because something is going on in there life that they are having trouble with. It can be hard at times to not snap a witty comment back at them when they are being rude, but remember that Jesus was under verbal fire all throughout the bible from persons who just wanted to hate. People do this because they don’t want to work on things in their life. Ask to pray with that person or just smother them with kindness. Have you heard that saying, “You can catch more flies with honey then with vinegar?” Proverbs 16:24 Kind words are like honey -sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.

DO NOT LIE

www.bible.com/111/exo.20.16.niv

There is no such thing as a white lie, that in itself is a lie. We sometimes say things in order not to hurt someone’s feelings but it is better not to say anything at all. When we do something that we know we shouldn’t have, normally our first response is to deny and blame someone else. God commanded us not to lie about others. Without God, we are not equipped to be truthful all the time.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help me to be truthful to you, myself and others. Satan is the father of lies and I do not want any part of him in my life. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that helps me to choose to be truthful. Amen

Answers to the unknown

I play a crossword puzzle on my computer sometimes because I love a good mind challenge. In this game you can earn coins throughout the levels and those are used to purchase a letter, helping you get the answers needed to advance to the next level. Wouldn’t that be nice to have in your life, give a couple coins to get any answers that are needed in this great unknown. When we pray God gives us the answers that are needed to get through this life. Those answers may not come in a fashion that we would have them come, but they are the answers to help us succeed and not to harm us. Dear heavenly father thank you for always answering my prayer even if it’s not something I expect, Lord I know it’s the best answer for my well-being. I trust and have faith in you to lead me in the right direction as you always have. In Jesus name amen.
