Humility Leads To Blessings!

People helping People!

When we choose to walk with God, the way of peace is easy to find. Abram demonstrated this when, instead of warring with his family, he trusted God for his inheritance. Instead of fighting for the land God had promised, he waited for God’s perfect timing. He chose the way of peace—a road that we cannot find outside of trusting the Father.

When we become more satisfied with our relationship with God than the promise of his blessing, we set ourselves up for something far greater. No sacrifice will ever outweigh the glory of remaining close to him. Holding our promises loosely, knowing that God is ultimately in control, frees us to rest and enjoy him. Otherwise, we get fixated on temporal desires and are willing to fight and strive to get them. Let’s posture our hearts before the Lord in humble faith. Humility is the precursor for his richest blessings.

Father, I want to reflect your nature and demonstrate your patience and kindness. I long to be Christlike in the way I pursue what you’ve promised. Forgive me for pushing to make things happen and not trusting your timing. Help me to live above reproach by walking in humility and temperance as I wait patiently for you.

The Passion Translation

Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not quarrel with each other, or between our herdsmen, since we are relatives. …If you choose the land on the left, then I’ll go right, and if you want land on the right, then I’ll go left.” Genesis 13:8-9

“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.”

His Spirit Lives in Us! 🕊

“Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.”
