I love this verse it reminds me of a time when God blessed me and I was so shocked that I couldn’t believe it at first.
My husband and I had planned a cruise to Alaska. We had been there before but we love to get away and enjoyed the scenery.
A family member was in need of money they asked if they could borrow from us. Gary and I said yes, and we told them its a gift. When we made the decision to give the money we both knew that was our fun spending money for our trip. We had decided since we had been to Alaska before we didn’t need to do any excursions and we would still have a wonderful time.
A few weeks later, the day of our trip I checked my checking account balance and there were several thousand dollars in my account that should not be there. Then I discovered what I thought was a bank error. I called the bank immediately to inform them they put someone else’s money in my account. The representative checked it out and said no the deposit is from social security and it has your account number on it. I explained to her, I had been retired for eighteen months and I get my checks on the second Wednesday and they don’t owe me any money. Please send it back. She told me I had to call social security. I was very frustrated to have to deal with this right before vacation but I placed the call and again explained my concern, I received money in error. After a short hold, I heard, ”Merry Christmas to you.” ”What do you mean ”, I said. She explained that when the social security calculated my monthly income they made an error, this is the back pay for the past 18 months and your checks will be increased from now on.
Praise God when we trust in Him and seek to do what is right by giving to others in need. He takes care of all of our needs. Thank you loving Father, I love it when you surprise us with an unexpected blessing.
We had an amazing vacation. 😉
