I’m watching my parents animals while they are out of state building their dream home. My parents have a cat that is very laid back and a very loving border collie that was a rescue. This dog is very skittish because that family before my parents were abusive toward her. She normally flinches when you reach for something or runs for cover when you are yelling to someone in this rather large home. The 4th of July came so we had her at our place thinking that if she was around other animals that she might chill out a bit. It worked a little but the next few days people were still letting off fireworks and she was losing her mind. Panting beyond control, running around the house trying to find a way out to run as far as she could, and whining uncontrollably. I kept telling her that it would be ok but after the tenth time, I was getting upset and yelled at her to lay down! I was upset at myself for being so frustrated! I immediately thought to myself about God and how he feels when I whine over the same topic over and over again and how frustrating that is almost every day of the year. The 4th of July happens once a year and I cannot hold my composure for that one or two days after. Dear heavenly father, help me to be more understanding of others needs. Help me to be as patient as you are with me. Thank you for always being there to help me through the hard times and pushing me straight through to victory. In Jesus precious name AMEN!
