It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. I help to mentor people through the rescue mission, kind of like a big brother. Over the last four years, I have co-mentored a man that has turned out to be promising. Yesterday he had come over to my house to help me finish building an addition to our chicken coop. We had a lot of fun chasing and catching chickens to place into the new coop. We were having so much fun, so we went out for pizza then came back to my place. We sat around talking about the old days of foolish things that we had done. I always want to represent myself as Jesus did, but I am human and sometimes say things that don’t belong. It happened to me yesterday when I was sharing my stories. We are supposed to hang out again today, and knowing this I will be on better behavior. I felt terrible this morning when I woke up. Being a representative of Christ means that I need to do better and be the light to inspire and shine to others. Dear heavenly Father, thank you for another beautiful day. Please forgive me for my sins and trespasses. Help me to be the best Christian I can be today. Touch the words that cross my lips to be influential and inspiring as if you were saying them yourself. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways and allowing me to change. In Jesus precious name, Amen!
