My friend Alyssa put this on Facebook today.

Thank you, Alyssa, for such a thought-provoking question. I sat in my favorite chair, drinking my morning coffee, pondering the question. Would I look beautiful if the words that come out of my mouth were printed on my body, for the whole world to read? Are my words kind and encouraging? Or are they negative and hurtful? That is the question!
I pray that my words are always kind and pleasing to God.
“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.”

I previously read a devotional by Jason Cruise called, The Mouth is the Mirror of the Soul. Yes, the words we choose, and the topics, that we select to talk about are equivalent to a mirror reflecting who we truly are. Jason wrote, ” Listen to what comes out of a person’s mouth and you can begin to discern the pulse of that person’s spirit.”
What does your everyday speech say about you? Is it pleasing to God? If not, ask God to forgive you and help you to be like Him. 🙏
