We are a custom to having electricity at our fingertips. We can have bright lights, soft low lightening, or lights that will even twinkle. We have choices on the ambiance that we want.
On Sunday night, my husband and I both were relaxing in the family room reading. I told Gary I was going to make myself some coffee and asked if he would like something to drink. As I headed for the kitchen, I noticed that the lights were off. I thought to myself I can see just fine. I opened the kitchen drawer grabbing a Keurig coffee pod. Putting it in the coffee maker it started brewing immediately. As I watched the coffee drip into my cup it looked unusually dark. When my drink was done I couldn’t wait to smell and taste it. Oh, no it wasn’t coffee! It was hot chocolate. Why didn’t I turn the kitchen light on? It made me think of Jesus. How He is the light in a very dark world. To keep his light illuminated in our lives we must spend time in prayer and reading his word. Friends this taught me a lesson. Don’t do things in the darkness of the world, you may get something you don’t want, physically and spiritually. Let God shine through you!
“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.””
