“Don’t yield to fear. All you need to do is to keep on believing” (Mark 5:36 TPT). What a powerful statement from Jesus! Jairus had just been given the worst news imaginable. The world’s final declaration had been made. His daughter had died. Nothing else could be done. Yet Jesus tells him to keep on believing and not to give in to fear. The conclusion—Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter from the dead. What was impossible became possible.
Accepting fear means closing the door to possibilities of faith. Even when man’s final declaration has been made and it feels like the gavel of judgment has sealed your fate, Jesus still has the last word. Despite the facts, do not give fear a place in your heart. Keep believing, even when fear is screaming in your face. Stand in his presence and find your peace. Nothing is too hard for him. Absolutely nothing!
Jesus, I need the peace that passes understanding. I release every hopeless situation to you and ask you to breathe life into the chaos. Do what only you can do. You are the God of miracles—faithful, loving, and powerful. I declare your Lordship over _____ (name the problem). I believe in you. I trust you. I settle my heart in your presence. Take over.
From “Ever Present Love” written by Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez
“As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”
