My wife and I try and teach our 8 year old daughter how to do all kinds of different things. Sometimes she’s very receptive and has a lot of fun with it but she struggles with trying to figure out the significance of other ones. She adores cooking with us, making her own concoctions then having us try them whether we want to or not. Whenever I am building something I always try and share that experience with her so that she is able to do things on her own when she’s older and not have to rely on someone else. She can use a tape measure, mark lines, drill a pilot hole and screw the screws in. She helps us wash the vehicles, only I fear she’s only there to give her old father a surprise shower which is always good for a laugh or two. Helping us plant the garden was very entertaining and watching it grow with God’s help. My father didn’t show me how to do the most basic things to help myself and I really struggled later in life to catch up with all my friends that had been doing these things for years. One thing that I noticed when I was reading all of the books in the Bible was that Jesus took the time out to teach every single person and was humble in the way that he did it. He didn’t snub someone off because they were of a certain stature or feel like they didn’t need to learn something. He made sure that we had a relationship with God to the very last minute of His life. He never stopped loving or caring for us even after we beat Him within an inch of His life. He hung there spit on beaten and bloody professing his love for God and us, making sure He bridged that gap for us from earth to heaven. My wife and I want to do everything in our power to make sure that our kids are ready as much as they can be for the future. The most important thing for them to remember though is that we can only go so far on our own in life. We want her to remember always that God needs to be the leader in her life and that between God’s message and love mixed with what we taught her can change herself and the world. Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will council you with my loving eye on you. Proverbs 22:6 start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Heavenly Father, thank you for yet another beautiful day. Please forgive us our sins and trespasses we repent and get back on your path. Help us to stay on your small path Lord because we know that the devil has a wide path for us to stumble on. Give us the physical, mental, and spiritual strength that is needed to get through this day and stay as close to you as possible. If anyone out there needs our help today bringing them closer to you then please Lord open the door for that opportunity. Give us the ears to hear the eyes to see in the words to say how you would. Thank you for being with us, in us, and around us, in Jesus precious name, Amen!
In Song of Solomon 7:1 we read, ‘How beautiful are thy feet with shoes.’ No one seems to be proud of the feet. Advertisements describe beautiful eyes and attractive teeth, but whoever read of beautiful feet. Our Lord has provided for beautiful feet by saying, ‘Your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”
The beautifully shod feet of our Lord’s disciples are careful to avoid the mud puddles of temptation and compromise. There are a lot of muddy spots in this world. The news today is filled with turmoil. We seldom hear good news from the world stage. But when we share the Gospel with others, we bring them Good News that not only changes their lives today, it secures their heavenly destination as well. By David Jeremiah
Let your feet be as beautiful as your smile as you take the Good News to others!
Loving people for me has never been the easiest thing to do but when we follow God it makes it a lot easier. We read so many scriptures telling us and showing us how God loves us and by his example we’re able to go and do and love others. John 3:16 for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The scripture is one of the most widely used scriptures in the Bible and very well should be. This shows the biggest act of love that we could ever hear about or see. It can be a struggle at times to love others especially when people are yelling at you or being deceitful and sometimes for no reason. I don’t know that I would lay my life down for someone who is treating me badly. 1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. If we are having trouble finding love in our hearts for people who hurt others and I mean then take a knee and pray asking God how you can love that person or persons. He will show you the way. I know he’s helped me many times in my journey with him. If anyone can change hearts it is our Lord Jesus Christ. Please join me in prayer. Dear heavenly father there is a lot of meanness out there in this world and a lot of hatred but we can rise above these things with your help. Please help us to find love in people who are needing your help. Help us to grow stronger in your love. In Jesus precious name amen.
