THE EDGE OF SIN!

I was driving home at night and decided to take a back road, a short cut I thought. As I turned on the dark road, I saw lights from a police car. My immediate thought was someone was pulled over for speeding. Yes, that is why I turned down the country road so I could speed. Then I realized it was two police cars. As I was slowly driving toward the incident BAAAM out of nowhere I had yellow crime scene tape across my windshield. Two officers were yelling at me to turn around that I had just entered a crime scene. I was humiliated, to say the least. As I turned my vehicle around I thought about how many times I have been on the edge of sin just a step away. Instantly God puts up the caution tape warning me to turn around. Thank you, Lord, for guiding my steps along my journey with you.

YOUR WORD IS A LAMP FOR MY FEET AND A LIGHT FOR MY PATH. PSALM 119:105

Refuge

One day my son and I had gone to visit a friend of mine that owned a honey bee supply store. We were laughing and upbeat as we walked to the front door of the shop. Ryan, “the owner of the shop,” worked another job farming, and was often tired by the time he arrived at his newly opened store. I opened the door only to find Ryan asleep on his sofa, then I heard a growling noise, so I turned my head to see his protection dog out of his usual kennel! I knew from what Ryan had told me in the past, that his dog isn’t friendly and will bite without being provoked. I threw the door thinking it would close quickly but it was equip with a door catch as to not allow itself to slam lol. The dog ran right through the opening so I placed myself between the dog and my son. The dog kept lunging at me with her hair raised and mouth open trying to bite me. I can’t explain the sight, only to say that this dog wanted to bite me but couldn’t. Every time she would snap her jaws it would be an inch or so from my arm but never making contact. Little did I know, my son got really scared and ran out from behind me! The dog saw her chance and took off after my boy, he turned to face her as she quickly gained on him! The same thing happened with my son, she couldn’t clamp her teeth into him either. By that time Ryan had finally got through the door and yelled a command to his dog that made her quit. He was so frantic, hugging and kissing my son, looking him over to make sure that he was unharmed. Every morning I pray for God’s protection over me and my family, to take refuge under his wings and to give us strength. I truly believe that God had placed a hedge of protection around us that day to protect my son when I couldn’t reach him.

Our pilot, Jesus!

While driving home from church at 9:30 p.m. I came upon Caltrans working on the road. The first thing that caught my attention was a sign; Prepare to stop, One lane ahead. The traffic was backed up while moving slowly toward the construction area. Shortly, we were at a dead stop. I thought to myself, it’s late and now I’m going to be even later. What seemed like an hour was really only ten minutes. A pilot vehicle that was all lite up with bright lights, started leading us across to an unfamiliar lane for the direction we were going. As we followed the pilot, I felt even though I was driving on the wrong side of the road I was being led to safety. I feel the same way sometimes with my walk with God. I may feel awkward at times in unfamiliar territory of situations however, I keep my eyes focused on my pilot, Jesus, that is leading me safely home.

Divine appointment

I love divine appointments because they usually happen when someone is needing to have a heaping helping of the Holy Spirit. Yesterday while at work I was building a fence and wasn’t moving very fast because of the heat. Looking up from what I was working on I noticed a lady that was older than myself standing in the middle of the street. It was a country road with hardly any traffic so I didn’t think much of it except the woman was looking at me like she was waiting for something. I waved and said hi and she waved back. About ten minutes later I had looked up and she was still standing in the exact same spot but she was looking around. I started heading towards her like I was being drawn to her, so I asked her how she was doing and how her day was. During our conversation, I was telling her how good God is and how He impacts everyone’s life. I was giving testimonials to her left and right, and she was so excited. I was talking so much that I realized that she hadn’t said much so I asked her to tell me some of hers. She asked me what a testimonial was, so I explained it to her. She looked at me for a second and proceeded to tell me that when she woke up this morning she felt a disconnect from God and felt lost and abandoned. She felt herself being drawn outside and before she knew it she was standing in the middle of the street waiting for something and that’s when I had approached her telling her how good God is. Amen
