Be with me!

Luke 10:38-42 as Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” ” Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered,” you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed-or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” I love this brief story only because it plainly tells us what we should be doing. Here Martha is in the kitchen piling on way too much stuff for herself to complete. Mary on the other hand is sitting at Jesus’s feet absorbing everything he has to offer at that moment. How many times a day do we put our focus on the world instead of Jesus. Getting on social media every couple minutes or every hour to check our social status. Going to work and creating too many jobs for us to do and complete when we could be putting our day in God’s hands. Sometimes we even have problems saying no to people when they ask for things. This can be a challenge also because we want to help others. But even Jesus throughout his journey here on Earth took multiple times throughout the day to have alone time with God to fully understand what God wanted from him and what he wanted him to do. Without our spiritual connection to God then what are we doing in our life. The answer is whatever we want to do and not God. I would like to add that usually all of these entries are things that are going on in my life also. I have to constantly do a check on myself and make sure that I’m doing the right thing. I try as hard as I can to pray as much as I can but I do fall short most of the time. It takes the need and want to be with God and have him leading us to make us stronger in our faith. Constantly reminding ourselves that we need to check in and make sure that we’re doing what God asks us to do and not what we want to do. We are only on this Earth for a little while so paying attention to details in our walk with God is super important and something I need to work harder on. I challenge you today to be with God as much as possible. Be prayerful and patient taking the time out to be still and listen. If you would like this in your life today then please join me in prayer. Heavenly Father thank you so much for yet another beautiful day. Thank you that we have the opportunity to take the breath of life and go out to do the things you have set out for us to do. Help to lead us and guide us today in our journey and our walk with you. Show us where to go, what to do, who we can help, and who can help us. We know that you protect us each and every day and you encourage us to have more faith in you. Thank you for all the help each and every day. Thank you for being with us, in us, and around us. In Jesus mighty name amen.
